The deceased, who was supposed to be among the 66 first-class graduates from the institution, was a son of a popular Ifa priest in Osogbo, Chief Yemi Elebuibon, Punch reports.
Punch reports that most of his school mates and others present at the convocation burst into tears at the saddening announcement made by the dean of his faculty, Prof. Gbemisola Adeoti, who called the name of the deceased for a prize.
The Public Relations Officer for the institution, Mr Abiodun Olanrewaju, reportedly stepped forward to call for a minute silence in his honour.
The deceased who was the best in Yoruba Language in the Faculty of Arts, was reportedly killed in an accident in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, in July 2016.
May his soul rest in peace.
